  • Tall & Fat

    $199.00

The acclaimed Tall & Fat pedal is the premier accessory  for clonewheel organs. Digital organs do a great job of modeling the tonewheel, but fail to capture the dynamic behavior of the tube based AO-28 preamp. That’s where the Tall & Fat comes in. When added to a digital organ setup, the Tall & Fat provides the compression, second order harmonics, and dynamic drive characteristics of the famous tube preamp. If you’re in need of a strong boost that’s clean and clear, the Tall & Fat is that pedal.

It is a three stage FET preamp with gain staging.. The onset of overdrive is gradual and can be easily controlled with the swell pedal. It adds compression and 2nd order harmonics. With it’s drive and transparency, it works extremely well when overdriven, even with complex chord shapes.

Like all Lounsberry Pedals it sounds and plays more like an amp than a pedal, bringing to mind the tube driven AO-28 preamp. It is the missing link between your digital keyboard and the analog sound you hear in your brain. The Tall & Fat is tuned to easily handle a wide frequency range and sounds awesome with guitar and bass.

Live that moment when you close your eyes and forget you are playing a digital organ!

    ABOUT GAIN STAGING

Discrete preamps provide gain in several stages, so that a lot of what happens to provide the right amounts of drive and compression in a preamp is determined by how many discrete stages are employed, and their levels, determining how the stages interact.

  • Tall Fat & Wide

    $329.00

If you work in a stereo environment, this is the solution you’ve been waiting for!

The acclaimed Lounsberry Pedals Tall & Fat design is now available in a Stereo Pedal. The Lounsberry Tall & Fat has long been the “go to” pedal for organists, guitarists, and bass players. Organists and keyboard players have previously had to use the mono output from their keyboard to be able to use the Tall & Fat pedal. They would typically connect the Tall & Fat output to an external stereo rotating speaker simulator and then on to their stage or recording mixer or amp. The Tall Fat and Wide allow full stereo throughput to a stereo recording or playback system.

The Tall, Fat & Wide can now be used post-simulator in stereo. Tall, Fat & Wide was designed to be used as an “always on” preamp (a sound we call ’60’s clean), but it is widely accepted as the overdrive of choice for many organists. When used post-sim, the “Fat” control (drive) should be set to a lower level to control the amount of chop that the simulator produces.

The second pair of outputs that we call the Stereo A10 circuit is available at the “Ring” of the TRS output jacks eliminate the overdrive and provide clean FET preamp outputs that can be used separately or in conjunction (via a mixer) with the main TFW outputs. This is provided for those who don’t want any Overdrive with their post-sim processing.

Remember that the TRS outputs are not balanced, but provide access to a choice of either set of outputs (or both – they are in phase with each other). This greatly expands the versatility of the Tall & Fat platform, allowing it to find many uses from stereo digital keyboard processing to mixing and mastering.

    CONTROLS

    • The “Fat” knob controls the Drive
    • The “Tall” knob controls the Level
    • The controls run right to left (like a guitar pedal)

    HOW IT’S STEREO A10

    • Use 1/4″ TS (guitar) cables for both inputs. (Note: If you are short TS cables and want to use a TRS cable, at least one of the inputs must have a TS cable inserted.)
    • Using TRS cables at the Outputs will provide the Stereo A10 sound at the Rings
    • The Stereo A10 circuit is always engaged, even when the Tall, Fat & Wide footswitch is bypassed

For stereo digital keyboard use, or mixing and mastering, experiment with your choice of outputs.

GET THE MOST OUT OF TALL FAT & WIDE

    • Set the “Tall” control at 12:00
    • Adjust the “Fat” control for the sound you are looking for (set the amount of drive to your taste)
    • Adjust the “Tall” control for unity gain when the footswitch is engaged and disengaged
    • The “Tall” control also allows for the pedal’s use a boost pedal
    • The Stereo A10 circuit is not affected by the knob controls, is roughly unity gain, and is on all of the time regardless of the switch state

  • Organ Grinder

    $199.00

The Organ Grinder was the first Lounsberry Pedal designed for keyboards. Developed with the aid of Roger Powell of Utopia and Meat Loaf fame, it provides a fat, tubelike overdrive for clonewheel organs that can cover the gamut of organ sounds from Greg Rollie, to Jon Lord, Uriah Heep, and even Canterbury sounds.

It is a gain staged preamp with Germanium diodes. The onset of overdrive is gradual and can be easily controlled with the swell pedal. It adds compression and 2nd order harmonics. With it’s drive and transparency, it works extremely well even with complex chord shapes.

Like all Lounsberry Pedals it sounds and plays more like an amp than a pedal, bringing to mind the tube power amp section of an overdriven Leslie cabinet. As it easily handles the low notes, the Organ Grinder also sounds awesome with bass guitar. Itt is the ultimate shredding device for the keyboardist who wants to rock.

  • Amp Rescue

    $199.00

The Pedal That Plays Like An Amp!

The Amp Rescue was so named after it was demonstrated through a small, solid state amp in a music store in Atlanta. The exclamation was heard, “Wow! It rescues a bad amp!”

It is a gain staged preamp with Germanium diodes. The onset of overdrive is gradual, but it adds compression and 2nd order harmonics and “sparkle”. The Amp Rescue pedal acts as an enhanced front end preamp for great sound through any amp, especially amps that lack punch and drive. It chimes in a way you never believed a pedal could, and it has been said to replace the chorus effect in some guitar rigs because of the lively top end.

Like all Lounsberry Pedals it sounds and plays more like a guitar amp than a guitar pedal The controls work the same, and the input is very responsive, ranging from a warm semi-clean to full on classic rock crunch and saturated lead tones.

The Amp Rescue provides a public service for users of “fairly good” equipment and provides the dynamic touch response of a vintage tube amplifier.

  • Smilin’ Jack

    $199.00

Smilin’ Jack is a reboot of a classic Lounsberry pedal of the past. As we know, not all fuzz pedals sound alike and the ones that stand the test of time have a unique personality. That’s where our friend Smilin’ Jack comes into play.

With just a little Drive engaged, Jack smiles and growls with the best of them, making it a perfect pedal to add a little bite to your leads. Play full chords with confidence, Jack won’t muddy up the tonal complexities. At least not yet…

Turn the Drive to noon, and Jack gets a lot more aggressive. This is where the sonic sweetness of favorite fuzz pedals from years passed. The chords begin to heat up and melt into sonic bliss.

Crank the Drive to its maximum setting and sonic meltdown is the name of the game. Jack’s fuzzy tones are stunning and ready to find a lead line to decimate.

  • Nigel – Fish Paper Edition

    $279.99

Hand Built, Fish Paper version of the Nigel. Users say that the Fish Paper pedals sound smoother.

The Nigel Touch Overdrive was the first Lounsberry Pedals design. It started out as a hand wired Fish Paper circuit board built into an Altoids box, but every time Greg tried to demonstrate the sound at the local music store the wallets would come out, and people would try to buy them on the spot. Jaws dropped at the amazing touch responsive dynamics that every guitarist strives for. It soon became obvious that it needed to be housed in a rugged stomp box enclosure. The mint box graphic style stayed on as a reminder of humble beginnings.

Nigel is a multi stage FET preamp with gain staging and Germanium diodes that sounds and plays more like a guitar amp than a guitar pedal, and the controls work the same. It is a very responsive overdrive that can go from warm semi-clean to full on classic rock crunch and saturated lead tones, and works well for keyboards too because of it’s full range response.

The amazing thing about the Nigel, is that it provides the dynamic touch response of a vintage tube amplifier. It’s like a Plexi that fits in your pocket!

Nigel is a multi stage FET preamp with gain staging and Germanium diodes that sounds and plays more like a guitar amp than a guitar pedal, and the controls work the same. Two stages of amplification are cascaded to provide a lot of push for the Germanium clipping diodes creating a very responsive overdrive that can go from warm semi-clean to full on classic rock crunch and saturated lead tones. It works well for keyboards too because of it’s full range response.

The Rupert Bass Overdrive is a fat sounding tubelike preamp and overdrive for Bass Guitar.

After seeing King Crimson in 1974 (one of the songs from that concert was used on their USA album), the massive overdriven bass tone of John Wetton made a lasting impression. There were discussions with a local bass player who was looking for a “knock your head off” bass drive that was fat as well as overdriven. I thought back to John Wetton’s massive tone, and I realized that the Nigel had most of what was required to achieve this.

Although it began life as the Nigel, the Rupert,  with its extended low frequency response became the weapon of choice for that colossal bass tone.

Rupert is a multi stage FET preamp with gain staging and Germanium diodes that sounds and plays a lot more like a bass guitar amp than a pedal. It is a very responsive bass overdrive that can go from warm semi-clean tubelike bass tone to  ’60’s and ‘70’s fuzz driven crunch. It’s a great bass overdrive for just about any genre.

The amazing thing about the Rupert, is that it provides the dynamic touch response of a vintage tube amplifier. It makes a small bass amp sound massive. It’s like a tiny Concert Arena for your bass guitar!
